New KS3 lessons and homeworks

To extend our coverage of the 2014 KS3 curriculum, we have now published the following new lessons and homeworks:

Calculator methods 1

This lesson covers using a calculator with money, interpreting the calculator’s display, entering square and cube powers and roots and using the pi button.

Calculator methods 2

This lesson builds on Calculator methods 1 and covers using a calculator to enter fractions, using brackets to enter complex calculations, entering higher powers and using a calculator in problem solving.

Place value beyond 10000

This lesson covers reading, writing and ordering numbers larger than 10,000 and decimals with ten thousandths.

Reverse percentages

This lesson covers using multipliers in reverse to solve problems involving percentage.

Inequalities and intervals

This lesson gives a visual approach to relating inequalities to number lines and writing intervals using compound inequalities and bracket notation.

Currency exchange

This lesson covers converting between different currencies using exchange rates calculations.

Frequency polygons

This lesson covers representing and comparing grouped data using frequency polygons.

This lesson covers representing outcomes of events using simple tree diagrams and labelling them with probabilities.
