Further GCSE update
Posted in Secondary
Following the addition of some new GCSE lessons and homework tasks last week, we will be making further content updates to MyMaths on Thursday 16th July.
You will be able to see all of the new and updated resources below in the GCSE exams 2017 view of the curriculum selector.
Quadratic equations
Quadratic equations will be updated and split into Quadratic equations 1 and Quadratic equations 2 to reflect the new foundation and higher tiers. Existing marks for Quadratic equations will be transferred to the Quadratic equations 2 homework.
These changes will also help students taking the existing exams so we are making this update available across all views.
Indices
We will be adding a new resource on Indices to allow better progression through the topic. Marks for the current Indices 1, 2 and 3 homeworks will be transferred to the Indices 1, 3 and 4 homeworks respectively.
These changes will also help students taking the existing exams so we are making this update available across all views.
Arcs and sectors
Arcs and sectors will be added to help cover the new GCSE. The original resource, Arcs, sectors and segments, will remain unchanged so there will be no change to homework marks.
Sequences
Two new lessons on sequences, Generating sequences and Recognising sequences, will be added for the new GCSE.
Geometric sequences 2 will be another new sequences lesson for GCSE. The original resource Geometric sequences will remain unchanged but will now be called Geometric sequences 1.
Proportion
Two new resources, Direct proportion and Inverse proportion, will be added to better support you and your students through the new GCSE. The existing Direct and indirect proportion resource will remain unchanged.
Pythagoras 3D
The Pythagoras 3D resource will be updated to exclude 3D coordinates. If you need material on 3D coordinates, you can use the 3D coordinates resource.
Take a more detailed look at what these new and updated resources cover.
We will be making further GCSE updates later in the summer. Use our planning guide to see all of the updates that will be in place for the start of term.
