GCSE 2015: new content and curriculum selector

By Lucy, 28 April 2015.  Posted in Secondary

We are excited to announce some upcoming improvements for Secondary MyMaths users.

Starting from early July, we will release over 30 NEW GCSE lesson and homework topics in time for the new school year. Rest assured, you will still be able to support learning for the new GCSE with the vast Library of MyMaths resources you already know, but there are some new topics we want to provide for you as well. In addition, we will be updating or splitting a few of the existing lessons to better reflect the new division between the foundation and higher tiers.

To help you plan your MyMaths lessons in light of the curriculum changes, we will post a GCSE Lesson Planning Guide shortly. The planning guide will include:

  • a list of specific topics for the new GCSE lessons and homeworks
  • a mapping of MyMaths topics to the GCSE specification

After the exam season, we will release the Curriculum Selector Tool for Secondary MyMaths users. This is a feature that will allow you to display resources and monitor progress in relation to the new KS3 or the new GCSE, as well as in the existing format which continues to support the legacy GCSE. For more information and to find out how it works, view the walkthrough of the Primary Curriculum Selector.
